my family has always made oyster pattys as one of the side dishes for thanksgiving dinner. Everyone has always loved them and it is a must to have them for my family. but i was just wondering since i am supposed to bring a side dish for a thanksgiving dinner i am attending and it is not with my family i was wondering if anyone else has ever had them as a thanksgiving side dish or is my family the only one. i dont want to bring a side no one has heard of for thankgiving if you know what i mean.

I would ask the person who has invited you if they know if the other guests might enjoy the oyster patties. I would think that you would have to be a big fan of oysters. Personally, my dad put oysters in our family stuffing one year. Emphasis on 1 year. Sometimes, its just hard to break with certain holiday dining traditions.Happy Thanksgiving!!
