What he meant is that people around the world are UNCONCERNED. We all know that there will are evil people who will do evil deeds. But what are we going to do about it? The world is dangerous because people are unconcerned about these things.

He is persuading us TO CARE and BE COCERNED about what is happening around us and DO THE RIGHT THING.

It means tht the world is a dangerous place not because of the evil things present but because of the ppl who sit and watch all this without doing anything which eventually leads to more danger, evil, terrorism.Ppl are scared.
A best example Bush-the danger and The ppl who dont work for this-The ppl who do not want to join politics and the army and rather go for jobs not concerning ppl's life or devolopment.

If you've got time, check out a book called "The pig that wants to be eaten and 99 other thought experiments" by Julian Baggini. The quote by Einstein(which i've not heard before) made me think of tnis example from this book:
Kill and let die:
Greg has just one minute to make an agonising choice. A run-away train is hurtling down the track towards the junction where he is standing. Further down the line too far away for him to reach, 40 menare working in a tunnel. If the train reaches them, it is certain to kill many of them.
Greg can't stop the train. But he can pull the lever that will divert it down another track. Further down this line is another tunnel, only 5 men are working, the death toll is bound to be smaller.
But if Greg pulls the lever, he is deliberately choosing to bring death to to this gang of 5. If he leaves it alone, it will not be him who causes deaths amongst the 40. He must bring about hte deaths of a few people, or allow even more to die. But isn't it worse to kill people than it is simply to let them die?
The rails are humming, the engine noises getting louder. Greg has only seconds to make his choice. To kill or let die?

We know Greg is not an evil person but what should he do? The book follows each 'experiment' with the authors thoughts on each matter to encourage you to think more rather than answering the dilemma in hand. If you have the time i'm sure you could reference some of it in your essay. i bought it in FOPP music store in Britain for £7.

Yes, it means that the greater evil is when people see evil and do nothing. Like Dafur was/is and like Nazi German was for sometime becasue the outside world waited so long to get involved. Like many things in the world at the moment. It's hard to stand up to the early signs of eveil but so necessary.

Einstein is saying that there will always be evil people that do evil things in this world, but he is saying what makes the world really dangerous is the people and governments that tolerate the evil doers and do nothing to stop them.

We as the human race create many (MANY) problems the only way we can change them is to change our mindset. If we try and solve the problem in the same mindset that created it simply wont work . in a way if our mind set is changed the problem goes away by its self and just the mindset it self that is the problem. for example imagine the human mind set as a leaking roof and the perceived problem as a bucket catching the drips , the bucket fills and starts to overflow, we then empty the bucket thinking it will fix the problem but then that bucket overflows to. we solve this by instead stopping the roof leaking, the roof is our mindset which we need to change. we cant fix global warming if we keep the same mindset and keep driving millions of cars and releasing other green housing gases, we have to change our mindset and ways. Umm don't know if that answered your question but it gave me something to think about , Thanks :)

He is saying that the people who do nothing about evil when they see it are at fault. Since the number of evil is very small and they could not do evil if it were not for the people who do nothing about it.

This is a paraphrase from an old testament verse. It goes something like:

"Evil abounds when good men do nothing."

It means that if no one did anything to stop evil in the world, the world would be the vilest, evilest place you can think of.
