My ex broke up with me because he didn't feel the way I felt for him. I really loved and miss his parents, they were my second family in this new town I moved to. But I'm not sure what they know about the break-up, I didn't do anything "wrong" so I assume they hold nothing against me. His mother let me borrow a few books and I would like to send them back to her, with a card to the family for the holidays. But I'm not sure what to say, I'm terrible with words! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Of course........you broke up with him, not with his family. If they have been nice with you......why cant you send the books back and a sweet card for them??
You dont need to say anything about their son..Tell them only that u want send the books, and that you remember them with so much love, and thank them for the nice moments they gave to you .After that, say........Happy Christmas.. God bless you all, .. bye
Nothing more is needed, and they will be glad because of ur card.

Oh myyyyyy...I am so sorry this happened, I know it can be quite hurtful.

You have received some great answers there, from kind, caring people.

Your break-up with your ex, did not seem to be bitter, so there should be no reason why you could not call his Mom and ask if you could return the books to her.

You should be able to tell by her voice, if anything negative has been said, by her son.

If things seem ok and she tells you to come over...you then go out there and buy her the most beautiful card ever......by Hallmark, as they have some great ones.

Maybe even buy her one single red rose.

It is so sad when people have to suffer after a break-up.

Good luck hun....I hope it works out for you...you seem like such a nice caring girl.

Send the card and books separately. In the card, simply say "Ive missed you and hope all is well with the family".

Return the books and anything else you have of theirs with a card. Keep it light. They will not be able to influence their son for you. Thank them for all of their help and say you are sorry things didn't work out with him. Say you'll always remember them fondly. Then end it. Don't contact them again. It's over and move on. I wish the best of everything to you!

Say what you want to say. Something like,

Dear _____ Family (the last name),
I hope you are all doing well. Here are the books I borrowed from ______, they were very good. Happy holidays!

That isn't very good, but it's a start! You can combine it with other people's responses, I suppose. Good luck!

i pretty much agree with ISHA,tell them exactly what you said, that you are not good with words, but you miss them and let them know you see them as a second family to you, reguardless of what may have happened between you and their son,and that you were thinking about them for the holidays.
