I am trying to make a pie, but I would like to use a frozen or ready-made crust to save time. Thanks!

Look in the frozen food section or the butter section of your local supermarket. If you still cannot find pie crusts, then try phyllo dough. It comes frozen, let it get a little room temp, leave it folded and gently roll a pin or can of beans back and forth across the wrapped dough. Unwrap the phyllo gently, it should be oblong in shape. Gently "cut" a 1 inch border around the entire edge. Be careful not to cut all the way thru. Place your fruit in the middle and spread to the border. Brush the border with egg whites and bake in a 325 degree oven for30 mins. The edges of the phyllo will rise and your fruit will stay in the middle. Brush the top with apricot jelly when cool, this will give it a beautiful shiny color.

I don't know if you have this in London, but if your grocery has Pillsbury just roll out pie dough. These are as close to homemade as you can get. You used to have to unfold them and sometimes they would crack. But now someone had the bright idea to roll them. Just make sure they are room temp when you use them. I also like to roll them a little thinner than they come. These make a great fantastic pie crust.
