It is usually the job of the maids (matrons) of honor and the bridesmaids to help the bride get ready...more than likely the bride's mother would be gettng ready at the same time anyways, which is why the bride has attendants.

your sister, your niece, an aunt, a close friend or yrou grandmother are all good choices. If you think this may be an emotional event for you, you could arrange to get ready with your wedding party and have a few close fmaily and freinds there to help out. That way, you have a support system, but don't have to feel like someone is there "replacing" your mom.

I would have my older sister do it. Speaking from a newly wed, it's crazy and trust me that everyone will be helping you. It's something you will always remember. Plus my mom's a florist and did all my flowers so she was busy doing last minute things that my younger sister, cousins, and friends helped me. Just remember that the details aren't that important years later! it's all about the memories and enjoying the moment your in. Congrats and i wish you the best in your marriage! ~ Katie

Sorry about your mom. But have you got any aunts that you are closed to or have you got a godmother that is willing to help, as well as your sister and you niece. What about your best friend?

When I got married i had my mum, sister and my favourite aunt helping me.

anyone who u love and care for can, there are no written rules anywhere about who should help u. if u want to get ready on ur own then do so!! its ur day, i'm sure everyone/anyone would love to be asked to help u dress - go with whatever u want, just have a lovely day!

my dad died so if i ever get married, i'd like my mum to walk me down the aisle

just have fun!! xx
