a few years ago, i met a guy and became friends right away. i started to like him, and it would be safe to say he liked me too. a few years have gone by now, and the feeling's only intensified. I've seen him at a few parties, and we talk a little there, but we're both shy when it comes to that. my friends say that whenever i'm around him, he has a hard time focusing on anything, and when they say my name, he's really attentive. when we talk, he'll look at my eyes, and then my lips. when i give him my opinion, he listens. he has other friends that are girls, but doesn't treat them the same. he also went through this phase last year and treated everyone a little differently (he's over it now), but he was the same to me the whole time. the thing is, i've only seen him in the halls this year, but he'll focus on me in the crowd and stops talking to his friends for a while. it'd be awkward for me to just ask him out, we need to become "reaquainted"... how? and does he like me?

The only thing you can really do is tell him how you feel, and don't rely on anyone else to do it for you because that will just make things more difficult, and make him uncomfortable.
Besides whats the worst that could happen? He either likes you too, or things pretty much stay the same right? You've got nothing to lose.

Sorry my friend but at this point if he really is interest in you he already be with you.
With all do respect you sound Gay. because you said he went through this phase. that word made me think that. but if I'm wrong I'm really sorry.
Maybe his not prepare to start a relation, give him space dint push.
But as I said at the beginning if he want something with you you will be the first to know. Dint imaging things, that not exist like you mention about your lips and eyes. Dint tacked wrong mayne he is only listen the conversation If you want to be clear as water. ask him what he think about you.
Just start a friendship the time will decide the future.
