Can you tell your parents or guardian your inner secrets and why or why not?

I think that you can tell your parents or guardian your inner secrets, because if I were a parent or guardian I really would want to be able to talk to the child about anything. I would not judge you, but I would be very understanding. Their wants, desires, and dreams are obviously important to them...so those things would be important to me too. I think you can trust my opinion because 16 and not like a parent. Also, if you tell them some things you might find yourself happier? And if you do let your guardians in on your inner secrets, it might be wise to tell them to keep it between you guys if you dont want your parents to talk. They might be like, "My child said s/he wanted/wished that..." to close friends, because they are happy they can talk to you.

Depends on the secret, doesn't it? The important thing is not whether you confide in someone if you are troubled, but who. You need an adult that you can trust. It needs to be someone who is in a position to fairly and objectively look at the matter without over reacting (therefore your immediate family may not always be the first choice). There are good trained counselors available to all of us if we just search a little for them in our community. You are on the right track, just do a little thinking before you decide.

My mother is my very best friend in the whole world. I tell her almost everything. Sometimes she doesn't like what I am saying and other times I don't like what she says in return. However we both respect each other and love each other unconditionally. If you have that type of relationship with yours, then you can tell them.
