Its Alwayz Gud Idea To Take Your Laptop On Board,
Firstly, as you have mentioned it is vunerable to breakage, due to rough handling of baggage at some airports.
Secondly, If your luggage gets delayed or miss placed, you might loose/miss your laptop and a possible meeting due to no presentation.

I would take your laptop on board with you so it will not break in the checked luggage. I have traveled with mine quite a bit and they usually just scan it by itself checking in and occasionally they make you turn it on to prove its a laptop.

You may want to check with http://www.tsa.gov/ for the latest updates on what you can and cannot bring on the aircraft.

Have a great trip!

They will let u take it on board the flight but it will count as your one piece of hand luggage.....

Don't put it in the hold it will defiantly get broken

Have a good flight x

Take it on board, besides the in-flight entertainments can get repetitive so a laptop may come in handy when you have watched all of those films...

I would take it on board with you but better check the latest security restrictions with your airline as they seem to be changing all the time

Take it on board with you. Trust me it is the only way you will get it there in one piece. If you are flying to SA then definitely keep it with you, you might even want to tie it to you.:)
