"Our Father who art in heaven ....

and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil"

in this "The Lord's Prayer" one addresses "our Father" beseeching not to be led into temptation. who traditionally leads us into temptation? and who, therefore is "our Father"?

hey servant? (you condescending anal orafice). that's not what the prayer says there, "baby guy". it does not say "and make it so that we are not led into temptation". it says "and lead us not into temptation". on the spot revisions don't really work, ya know.

and your lack of sexual self control is not a reflection on me. sorry but i refuse your projection.

EXCELLENT point! Wow, I've never thought of that.

Reminds me of this verse that always creeped me out when I was a christian. 2 Thes. 2 :11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie

Seems kinda odd to have god up there trying to trip us up. The big guy needs to up his meds. Bi-polar disease is no laughing matter god!

Instinct leads us into temptation. I say, as long as you aren't hurting anyone, go for it. I see what you are saying, though. It seems that The Lord's Prayer implies that God is the one leading people to temptation. Good point you've got there.

God sometimes allows us to be tested by temptation. As disciples, we should pray to be delivered from these trying times and for deliverance from Satan (the evil one) and his deciet. All Christians struggle with temptation. Sometimes it is so subtle that we don't even realize what is happening to us. God has promised that he won't allow us to be tempted beyond what we can bear (1 Cor: 10:13). Ask God to help you recognize temptation and to give you strength to overcome it and choose God's way instead.
God is our Father. Satan is the Father of lies.

a pair of issues to video show: a million) bear in mind that it is the prayer of the new child to the father, understanding the new child could fall prey to the Evil One (the subsequent word interior the prayer). 2) The Hebrew-Greek Key learn Bible has an annotation that the verb is interior the aorist subjunctive used as an crucial--in different words, "please do no longer enable me enter into the temptation". it fairly is an extensive parallel to the "enable us to no longer succumb . . ." which you're referencing. 3) in spite of the interpretation (and there are various, somewhat suitable) it fairly is significant stay removed from what could save us from fellowship with the father. It does no longer make experience to wish "lead us no longer into temptation" or a similar request, then flow out and look for a temptation to fall into!

satan and the other angels that God banned from Heaven are the ones who tries to lead us into temptation, therefore we pray our Father Who art in Heaven, deliver us from evil(satan and his co-horts) and lead us not into temtation, but deliver us from evil. satan and his followers have many ways of deceiting God's people without us even knowing it, thus we ask our Father in Heaven to lead us in another path. when Jesus was born and we accepted Him into our hearts and leader and master of our lives and be born again of the HOLY SPIRIT and are made one with God and Jesus. only Jesus could have us adopted into the family of God. thus, we call God, Father. by the birth of Jesus and the filling of the HOLY SPIRIT.
