I've caught him looking at my computer documents a few times. I really don't want him to invade my computer documents. I'm only 12. I don't save nude pictures or look at bad things, but sometimes my friends tell me things over AIM and i save those conversations and I'll save secrets on my desktop. He's been doing it for a week now. If I tell him to stop, he'll think I look at bad things and such. If I tell him to stop because I have friend promises and secrets on there, he'll be more tempted to look.
Everyone has their own computer in their room, and mine is only for MY use. how can i prevent my dad from looking at all my documents?
Last time i caught him doing this was last night. I went into my room to get my backpack, and he was looking at some documents. I ran over and turned the power switch off and he got mad at me.

*I close my door but he goes in anyways.
*If I were to get a lock my dad would turn into a lunatic. We have locks but we're not allowed to lock our doors which stinks.

well he doesnt mean wrong, he's just trying to protect you. But if you feel invaded, you should talk to him. After all, remember that "PC" stands for "PERSONAL computer"

Your Dad is probably worried because of all the bad things that are happening in the world to children such as yourself via the Internet. It is his house after all you should be glad that you Dad is so caring because a lot of parents out there arent. You may feel like its an invasion of your privacy any kid would, but you must see it from your Dads point of view. He is good enough to let you have a computer in your room, so understand he feels its his responsibility to make sure nothing bad is happening. There are so many vile people in this world ready to hurt and take advantage of young children, your Dad is just trying in his own way to protect you from them.

Listen sweetie, cause you don't know any better. Your dad watches the news I'm sure. I'm also sure you don't , if you do not as much as he does. It's sooo much bad stuff on the internet that these predators are doing to young girls your age. He is only concerned about your safety as his daugther. You are his responibility. If he didn't care then that would be sad. As far as secerts try using a diary with a lock and key and find a hiding place. It's not that he thinks your gonna do something wrong it's these old dirty men he's worried about doing something wrong. Good Luck and GOD BLESS!!!!!

here is the simple answer.... I am a father of a 20 yr old a 18 yr old and a 16yr old... they all live under a roof that I provide for the family and they know they must respect that this is my home I pay all the bills and buy the food and I share all this with my family as a father should..... in return they do not cause me trouble simply because the want something or to do or want something. that's called respect. if you want total privacy move out.

Your father is trying to protect you! I would do the same thing. The world is a big scary place and the world wide web brings it right into your home. Respect your father's right to protect you and stop worrying about what he is reading. Really, what would he do with the secrets of a 12 year old unless it is something that is dangerous to them?

it relatively is embarrassing, yet attempt to not stay on it too plenty. that's a sort of issues like strolling in on your mum and dad making out...they're human and prefer privateness too. in case you're super on the brink of your dad, be happy to point you got here across some pictures and ask him to eliminate his porn from the information record and positioned it someplace else. otherwise, i could provide it a bypass except he starts off performing relatively inappropriately (like doing it the place it relatively is in all probability somebody will capture him). don't get your mom in touch, simply by fact it relatively is conceivable that she already knows of, and likewise greater importantly: it only isn't your activity to hold the burden of your mum and dad own relationship. call a chum, bypass dangle out, and attempt to enable it bypass.

Save your documents to a disk or CD instead----put that in your room and it will not be stored on your parents computer----If you don't want the documents read---don't store them where they can be!

be thankful dad loves you so much your age group is easy target for online predators. people lie and get you to trust them and end up hurting people in your age group. many are to scared to come forward for they were warned and are afraid of getting into trouble for not listening.
you are very lucky to be loved so much and as annoying as dad is accept his love for he will not be there forever
