Dry hair. and don't brush or scratch the scalp before application. My old cosmetology instructor put it this way..... "Don't excite the scalp" Color Charm is a good professional brand. If purchased at a professional beauty supply store, it doesn't come with "instructions", you buy the bottle of color, and the developer separately, and it's assumed you know how to mix and apply. If memory serves me right, you mix 2oz colorcharm with 4 oz of 20 volume developer, apply for 20 mins, (or up to 45 mins before the color "shuts off" by itself.

Instructions are inside the package. I've seen some that say apply to towel dry and some that say apply to dry. That said the women who sold it to me at the store said definitely dry. I've done it with dry and it works fine. I also add Moroccan oil like she recommended and it makes it even better. The proportion is indeed 1 part color to 2 developer. I use two colors and mix them so that it isn't all the same color and it looks great! Good luck!

Spirit,
Follow the direction's please. Some products are for wet and some are for dry. This particular product is best used on DRY hair so be careful and find out for sure before you do anything.
