If he kisses me at the end of a date, does he like me or is he just being nice?

We were getting to know each other. We had been talking for about 4 months, when out of the blue, I told him I was getting married. He did not seem to be shocked. We remained friends. Later on, he made a feeble attempt to express his surprise at my announcement, but just would not allow himself to open up. I tried to explain that the marriage was one of convenience: the man I married still had a girlfriend and I knew it, but we got married to help our son. In the end, the marriage accomplished what we set out to do, which was to save our son. When we went our separate ways, which was about six months later, I let the other guy know, but he had moved on, which I completely understood; however, when we go out we have a good time and he treats me well, but I want more than friendship. Sometimes I think he does too, especially when he kisses me after our dates and calls me. Is he just being nice to spare my feelings?

Him kissing you at the end of a date shows his maturity. He's not just being nice. 9 time out of 10 he till has feelings for you, but is not ready to commit. Sometimes, friends will kiss and hug and it won't mean anything. I have friends who give me hugs and kisses (just pecks) because we are good friends.

It sounds like he is still hung up on you. Although he has another girlfriend/fiance/wife or whatever the case may be. You never know what will happen in the future. It could turn into more, it may not, but being friends with someone is not a terriable thing. So just keep being his friend. and things may or may not turn out the way that they are but you still have a good friend.
