the above belonged to my mum,who has just died, and I thought it would be fitting to give to a museum. Both are in good condition for the years any help much appreciated. Thanks

sorry to hear about your mum, it's a lovely idea to donate to a museum, the V&A has a good fashion dept as someone has already mentioned, there is also a fashion museum in Bath and one in Brighton.

I'm sorry about your mum dying. You may want to start by asking the V&A if they would like them or if they may know of a museum that would. They have a huge textile collection.

Contact any museums in your area and see if they have a need for such things...if not, they will be able to put you in contact with someone who collects those items.

call the museum you wish to donate them to and ask for the curator. tell him what you have and that you would like to donate them and he will tell you if he would like them. good luck and have a nice day.

I would get in touch with your local historical society. If your town doesn't have one check the next closest town.
They would be able to advise you as to what you need to do.
Ours will set up different displays monthly.
