The "permanent" method will also damage your hair. It is essentially the same as getting a perm but no curlers. The best way is, as stated above, to use a hair staightening iron. Some are of a better quality than others and will cause less damage, so it is worth the extra expense. Also, whenever you heat style your hair, you want to condition it regularly and maybe an occasional hot oil treatment..

If you use a good brand solution while using an iron, it won't damage your hair. Try John Frieda or Treseme. You can also use a hair dreyer. It does help to straighten the hair.

Use a flat iron. Have your hair ends trimmed regularly to get rid of any damage.
Also, use a product that protects your hair before you use a hairdryer & flat iron.

use a VS wet-to-dry ceramic hair straightener. it has ceramic properties which have negative irons. (the positive irons damage the hair, while the negative irons defend it). it really works. i have one at home. keeps hair straight for about 5 days if you don't wash it. (kinda gross if u dun wash hair). if not it should b about 3 days, if u straighten it properly.
