Before - use a heat protectant serum. Redken makes a really good one called Heat Glide. I also like Paul Mitchell's Super Skinny Serum. You can get this at a Trade Secrets store in the mall. Sometimes you can get free samples at Trade Secrets. And get a coupon for a discount from their website.

You can find similar products for less money at the drugstore or beauty supply store. For example at Walgreens.com Fantasia High Potency IC Hair Polisher Heat Protector Straightening Serum is only $7.00 for a 6 ounce bottle. It's probably even less expensive at your local store. This stuff smells great and is not heavy on your hair.

Ingredients
Cyclomethicone , Dimethicone , Cyclopentasiloxane , Dimethiconol , Dimethicone Crosspolymer , Amodimethicone , Phenyl Trimethicone , Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract , Tocopherol Acetate Vitamin E , Vitamin E , Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate , Fragrance Parfum

Instructions
Apply enough serum to achieve even coverage on towel dried hair.
Comb through.
Style.

Warnings
Avoid fire, flame and smoking until hair is dry.
Keep away from children.

The trick is to use a small amount. Don't saturate your hair with these products. And only use one at a time....but you knew that.

After - Depends on the results you want. Are you looking for shine? Hold? Body? Check out discountbeautycenter.com and search the products for the results you are trying to achieve.

I put a little bit of Aussie spray after I straighten it and then run my fingers through it. If your having trouble straightening it chances are your straightener sucks. You can to Walgreens or Wal-Mart and get the Turbo Straightener from Conair it works really great and you dont need to use anything with it.

wash hair before bed and use a smoother on damp hair.
try ganirer frutuis smoothing milk.
then straighten when you get up.
ask yourself these questions.
are you waiting at least ten minutes for it to heat up?
do you just have a crappy straightner?
do you accidently turn it off?
straighten hair.
[oh and by the way, turn ends outward with a striaghener to get them stick straight.]
then apply the smoothing milk again but dont overlaod.
one pump will do and rub it in your hands for a little bit.
then apply.
after, use hairspray 10-12 inches away from head.
but,look outside!!
is it rainy damp or humid.
then do anything possible to avoid gonig outside.

specific, what you desire to do will paintings. I even have an identical situation - dry, thirsty looking hair of course, yet vibrant, very intense-high quality hair when I flat iron it. I oftentimes flat iron it and then placed warm rollers in it. it is going to create intense-high quality loose curls.
