Well at least a few thousand people do.
There are more than 7,500 known cultivars of apples. Different cultivars are available for temperate and subtropical climates. Apples do not flower in tropical climates because they have a chilling requirement.

I do believe in apples...I do believe in apples...I do believe in apples..,..When I was a kid a would climb through poison ivy and risk certain death to climb trees and steal Congressman Philbins apples from his orchard. I would eat green apples till my stomach ached. We used to carry salt shakers with us to the orchard. Ahh New England memories.

Of course.
Five apples a day keeps eight doctors away.
That's 1.6 doctors kept away per apple.
With that sort of evidence, how can anyone not believe?
