Semi-formal is the casual version of formal, so you still dress up, but not to the absolute, full extent. You can wear a dress an inch above the knee or 2 inches above the ankle, or a ankle-length pants suit. The fabric shouldn't be evreyday cotton unless you are able to work it in with a nicer pants suit ot dress. Try fabrics like taffeta, chiffon, silk, velvet, satin, rayon, velour.

Semi-formal attire, for women, consists of a floor or ankle-length gown in a pattern. If it is a evening event, then black is the most appropriate. For men a dark suit, including shirt and tie, is appropriate. A black suit or tuxedo would be good for an evening event.

hm, semi formal... Id either go for a knee lenght pencil or A line skirt or dress pant. No jeans, no floor length dresses and no mini skirts. For the top, well, match it with your bottom....use that to either dress up or down the skirt or pant depending which way you need to go.

A dress, skirt and blouse, or pants and blouse. Whatever you normally wear when you dress up. It's not the "bring out the glitz" time, just normal dressy attire.

This would be a very nice dress - towards the more dressy side, e.g. no mini. Something cocktail length would be great! Not much skin showing, either.
