Hi....I use the apricot scrub, remember its an exfoliator...it will help take of the dead skin cells and bring out the new, and it adds life and shine to your dull skin.

The sort of what we can call buffing your skin will only irritate your skin if you have any type of brake out or acne.

Dont put anything on your face that will rub it.. it will only make it worse before it can get any better.

I can tell you that what is extremely good and gently to keep a face acne free or acne under control is called plain "Noxema"

Noxema is a face cleanser, wash your faces in the mornings and at night with it....and in the evenings, kind of leave it on a little longer....maybe 10 minutes or so...the rinse of with warm water.

If you have cetain areas with pimples, or blackheads....what I have done in the past is left it on my face over night..

It really works......Im 39 years old
and I have been using Noxema on my face since I was 11 yrs old...I have really nice skin,,,,

and now I have gotten my 12 year old daughter hooked on it too.

I hope this will help you.

Good luck

Anything with apricots actually couldn't be worse for your skin, that is, unless you regularly rub battery acid all over your face. Apricots have hydroxy action anyway, and an apricot scrub (the exfoliant combined with the hydroxic action of the apricot ingredient), will actually cause miniscule cuts in your skin. By using it, you take a chance that one of those cuts on the clear areas of your face will develop into acne; and the cuts, while they might not necessarily make normal skin become blemished, can be disastrous on inflamed blemishes. When used on acne, you can not only enlarge the infected area by creating more cuts, you can cause scar damage by continually irritating skin. In other words, even healed acne will look red and angry.

Your best bet to clear up acne is not to use anything rough or abrasive. Remember, acne is a mixture of oil and bacteria. Your skin creates oil as a natural defense against the environment, drying, etc. (abrasives!!!). The trick to clearing up acne is to provide enough moisturization for your skin that it won't call upon the oil glands as much to manufacture oil, while at the same time keeping it clean and protected. The best way to begin is to use a (sensitive skin formula only, at first) gentle cleanser, a toner, and a moisturizer twice a day. And also, use a non-comodegenic make-up everyday (liquid foundation will protect your skin from environmental damage far more than it will harm your skin; that has been true since man invented the car). You must effectively cleanse your skin by cleansing for at least 1 minute in the morning (your skin produces oil at night) and after exercising, and at least 2 minutes in the evening (even with liquid foundation, your skin will still be exposed to a number of environmental dangers). Toner should ideally be a spray, but using a sterile cotton ball to apply would be better than not using any. Just make sure that your toner is EXTREMELY gentle, otherwise it will be working against you. You should not feel any tingling or anything like that after using it. And your moisturizer, to begin with, should be oil-free, hypo-allergenic, and contain an SPF. You'll only need a dab, about the size of a flat coin, to apply to your face and throat.

Your acne may get slightly worse for a bit, simply because you'll be getting rid of the pimples you would have had in 1-3 weeks, but after a month, you will see a marked difference. And taking additional Vitamin A (not over 5,000 i.u. per day) and Acidophilus will speed up your recovery. Luck!

I've noticed it doesn't really clear up acne all that much, even the acne kind. It might prevent it from happening in the first place by scrubbing off dead skin cells that could clog your pores. Once the pimples are there it doesn't help. Try some type of cream specifically for acne.

After over 35 years of bad skin, I mean cysts & hard nodules on top of extra oily, I have discoverd that no matter what i used, St. Ives & many similar, the only real issue that made a real difference was that i ACTUALLY DID wash my face at least 2 times a day. No one product is going to clear it up, ever. Keep it clean & don't pick, even when tempted! Do you have medical insurance? Go for facials at your local beauty school if you can. Accutane is what finally broke the cycle for me. I did every thing the wrong way until I could afford Accutane.

Ive used it for years and I did have a lot of pimples as a teen, but in my late 20's it still works for me and I have the occasional pimple that pops up. Its also great to use 2 times a month as a body scrub and use it on arms legs and back but keep away from your sensitive areas. Try the medicated for acne they also have it in a sensitve skin formula if you need it. That is what I use.

i've got used St. Ive's Apricot Scrub and enjoyed it. It exfoliates properly and moisturizes on an identical time. besides the certainty that i've got in no way had blackheads (only purple zits on occasion), St. Ives Apricot Scrub looked as though it would shrink my zits. it somewhat is extremely gritty, so the exfoliation is in all probability what enables decrease the zits! only yet another thought: I mixture extra virgin olive oil, sugar, and cinnamon (to make it scent intense-high quality) and placed it in a small plastic field. it is going to shop like that for an prolonged time. I even have it interior the bathe and use it as an exfoliant approximately as quickly as each week. The sugar exfoliates, whilst the olive oil moisturizes. i certainly want doing this over using the St. Ives, and it is organic and lots extra decrease priced than St. Ives. i don't have a issue with zits in any respect whilst using the sugar/olive oil mixture! one element to bear in techniques: Everyones dermis is distinctive. What works for one individual would possibly no longer paintings for you. stable success, and attempt the sugar/olive oil/cinnamon trick in case you finally end up no longer liking the St. Ives!

I use St. Ive's Apricot Scrub for sensitive skin. I haven't had any problems with breaking out. Everything I use, except my cleanser, is for sensitive skin.

I don't have acne so I really can't say for sure, I'd say do your homework and read what ingredients or preparations are best to be used for acne. I was using this product for the cleansing grains to smooth my skin and it didn't really do so good, not like a micro-dermabrasion exfoliator. I did note it was very gentle to my face.
