Im cooking a sunday roast chicken (at the moment) and would like to try something different with it. Have you any extra bits you love with yours. Maybe something your mum and gran and gran before her. I always find best advice for food comes down from generations. Im about to attempt to make some traditional american sweet potato, recipe I got from answers yesterday. So tell me about your sunday roast?

Garlic Roast Chicken If you like garlic you will love this
get 2 bulbs ( not cloves) of garlic pealed
1 to 2 shallots pealed and quartered
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1st clean the bird and pat dry.
used the salt and pepper as a rub on the skin. Be sure to vigorously rub it into the skin especially over the breat area untill the skin is loosened.
now take 2-3 cloves of garlic from the 2 bulbs and mince them fairly finely. Then with your fingers spread the minced garlic underneath the skin around the breast on each side.
Take the remaining garlic and shallots and stuff the cavity
Roast at 350 deg F. for about 45 minutes or until done

I'm telling you you'll love it and it's actually very easy

To me there is no subsittute for Mashed (peel on) new potatoes. They go well with the gravy. Baby buttered peas. And roasted carrots.
