Jeff came in at a young age and won early on. Many of the old school fans (which I am one of, started around 1964) didn't like the fact that he didn't start out in inferior equipment for several years. Guess what? No one does nowadays. Anyone remember Dale, Jr. signing on for $8 million a year in endorsements before he ever ran his first race? Does Jeff whine some? Yes, but no more so than many other drivers (re: Tony Stewart; who was it complained to NASCAR that bump drafting would get someone killed and then he goes out at Daytona and knocks another driver out right away). Who cares if he's gay or not? I'll put a dime to a dollar that there's other drivers that are. Jeff's got a long way to go before he takes out as many drivers as Dale, Sr. ever did. And then all he'd say is "That's racing!" It all boils down to Jeff is a great driver, he wins and people don't like it.

The reason that I personally don't like him, is because he's a big whiner! Whenever something happens to him on the track, he always places blame on everyone else, and it gets old quick! He never takes responsibility for his mistakes, like most drivers do. I remember a race not too long ago, when it kept raining off and on...they asked Gordon about the track and how it was holding up through the slight drizzle, and he said that it was soaked, and he was having trouble driving and just kept right on complaining about the conditions. Then they asked Dale Jr. and he said it was fine, and barely drizzling. None of the other drivers were having a problem - just Gordon. He likes to complain and whine about everything. He's a really bad loser. No one likes to lose, but at least other drivers take it better than he does. I have respect for him, because in my opinion, he is a really good driver! Other than that, I don't like him, and I definitely don't stand by him. If he'd just work on his attitude, and stop blaming everyone else for his mistakes, maybe I might like him a little more.

you are so right jeff is a four time champion he has been there done that earnhardt fan live in there own mind thinking that he is better than jeff the only reason he is as popular as he is,is because of his father like i said time and time again if he came up; through the ranks like jeff and everyone did he would not be as popular as he is now

There's a lot of stuff about him out there that isn't true....there's no doubt that he's a great driver-maybe the best over the last 10 years. But he's a serious hypocrite who will whine and cry about someone getting lose and putting him in the wall and yet won't hesitate to do the same to someone else...he's not the pretty boy he tries to make himself out to be. Plus he cheated on his first wife, so he's not the shining angel he tries to show everyone.

The answer is in part of your question. He has won 4 championships in a relatively short amount of time. Which means that it seems to most people that he is constantly winning. Most people don't like to see a dynasty in sports. They would like to see different people winning every week. He accomplished a lot in a short amount of time and some say he didn't pay his dues. I think another reason is that he drives for Rick Hendrick. Hendrick has immersed himself in a cloud of suspicion over the last several years over things that he has done.

Because he is a baby. Cries if he does not get his way. Yes he can drive that car but he also cheats a lot. I think most of the Gordon fans are the young girls because they think he is hot!!! What ever he is far from sexy and if you pick out your favorite drivers because they are hot, you don't need to watch racing. I like a lot of drivers and what about Hamlin? coming up strong. I like to see a rookie doing so well.

Because he isn't some fat stupid redneck who spends all day guzzling down his welfare check and beating his wife or having sex with his dog. He can also talk like someone who didn't learn English in a toolshed. Sadly this doesn't sit well with those who live by the creedo "Gitchy gitchy gin. Ain' no sin to sleep with th' kin".

He whines like a 2 year old.
Example, he was complaining about Dale Jr. drafting him at Daytona & Talladega. Hmm........last time I checked, you're supposed to bump draft at those tracks! Gordon just needs to get a grip.
Enough said.
Now on a different note, Jeff had nothing to do with Dale Sr.'s death. I don't know who came up with that one, but it's ridiculous.

First, he had nothing to do with Earnhardt's death. Sterling Marlin was around him when he crashed & alot of ppl blamed him. (It wasn't his fault either.)
People don't like Gordon because when he first came on the scene, we felt like, Here is this new kid driving a rainbow fag car & winning races. By him winning, that meant our old time fav.'s were not! Then when someone would do a lil bump drafting or rough racing, he would wine & cry like a lil B*!@# to the officials & media. No one likes a turd!
What sucks is that he is a decent driver but that lil squeaky voice he has, crying about how someone did something unfair but when he does the same thing, it's ok. It's sad they started Jimmie Johnson out just like him. I hope he can pull out of that image!
