Can anyone answer my question? I am at work, last night I drank a bottle of tequila with my brother. We got wasted but I forgot all my problems. Now I feel like crap, but I want to go back to the point of forgetting everything. Am I mental, I am so tired I wish I could sleep forever. Please I need someone to talk to and I don't trust people, too much evil in this world. Maybe I am just venting, so if you have no positive comment, don't answer my stupid question. Thanks

Are you mental? Well, no, I don't think you're mental, but I do think you are having symptoms of depression, but there IS help for you. I think that wanting to sleep forever & getting wasted so that you don't have to "feel" are your coping skills that you are using to feel safe. There are healthier coping skills that you can use, but you would have to take a risk & talk with someoe you trust about how you are feeling & if they knew any other coping skills. I've felt like killing myself before I knew any healthy coping skills because I hurt so much inside. I went to a mental health center that I saw a therapist who helped me tremendously. She was non-judgemental & validated how I was feeling & validated my past experiences so that I could explore other coping techniques such as journalling, grounding techniques, breathing exercises & other self-soothing behaviors. I hope you can find someone to help you & validate you so that you can stop using noneffective coping skills.

Hello, I suppose you thought that drinking will make you forget your problems but it is completely FALSE. Despite the fact that you are drunk, your problems are still PRESENT.
If you continue to drink to forget our difficulties, you will fall in a viscious circle and it will be extremely difficult to get out of it.
I think you should enumerate your problems, analyse them, try to see where they come from, and then, try to solve them. If you can't, then try to find help from somebody who is competent to listen to you and help you.
Furthermore I will advise you to do some sport, sleep early, do not smoke and DON'T DRINK. I hope that you will solve your problems and I will pray for you.

No, you are not crazy. It just sounds like you might be developing a substance abuse problem. If it persists and you feel like you cannot stop drinking, it's best to seek help. Your not alone though, I have a substance abuse problem as well that I'm working on fixing.

Believe it or not, if this was continuing behaviour and coping mechanism, you have described classic symptoms of alcoholism
