No, that's the wrong use of the word hypocrite. A hypocrite is someone committing sins and then condemning other people for doing the same thing. If a person recognizes it, then they can't be a hypocrite.

Not at all. We are hypocrites if we DON'T recognize that we sin. Ask a lot of Christians if they can quote I John 1:9 and they can. But ask a lot of Christians if they can quote verses 8 and 10 also. They can't.

Normally, I'd post those verses here. But I won't this time. Cuz those who have a humble enough heart to want to know what they've missed, will look them up. God bless you.

A hypocrite is "someone who pretends to believe something they actually don't; especially someone whos actions are inconsistent with those stated beliefs".

The Pharasis were called hypocrites by Jesus. They said they wanted to follow God's ways, but really were not interested in God at all. So no, Christians, by definition, are not hupocrites...for you must truely believe to be saved.

The second half of the definition is true for everyone, Christian or not.

If you recognize you're not perfect, then you wouldn't be hypocrites. However, you wouldn't believe how many Christians I've heard go on at length about how they're sinless.

A hypocrit is someone who recognizes the sin in everyone else but not in themselves.

I think there is too much focus on "sin." If people took more time, making up for their "sins," the world would be a better place. Maybe we all just need to recognize, period.

We are all sinners, and that is why Jesus died on the cross, as the final perfect blood sacrifice for sin.

Recognizing it, is a first step towards God through Jesus.

Let's put it this way. We are all vulnerable people. We can be influenced by our subconcious motivations to doing what we conciously know is wrong to do in the first place.

You sound like the Christian Borg. We this. We that. Resistance to Christianity is futile.

Only if you bash others for what YOU consider to be sins.
One must remember, that not all believe in the same thing.
