I know, media says lots of bad things, we have problems OK, but I live very fine here and it´s beautiful, in the past I have lived in Europe and simply I feel better here in my country. Ok, but on the other hand I think it´s good that we don´t have the tourist invasion as other countries have like Spain. But it should be great to receive more visitings from all over the world

Drug dealers? crime? I don´t think so, how do you explain that 98% of narcotraffic and crime economy stays on first world countries? (source UN) the crime networks are most european, japanese and from US... we have just the fame!!

There are different types of tourism

As far as marketable products go, then cocaine is not going to be a winner, because you have some rather dodgy traders. Tourists like to buy their souvenirs in clean shiny shops, and survive the experience.

some folks like to go on paint-ball holidays, but being dropped into the middle of a bitter conflict between political parties - government and left-wing rebels, right-wing paramilitary groups and drug gangs - is a bit to life like for most.

As far as getting folks to visit, perhaps you should concentrate on getting some of the 400,000 Colombians who are refugees and now live in Ecuador to consider going back? Whilst you have large groups of Colombians who fear to live in their own country, then you will not get many other countries wanting to visit.

It's not that bad I know, Colombia has one festival for everyday of the year. And despite travel warnings because of FARC and other guerrilla's groups, it has managed to push rebels groups farther away from the major cities and other tourist sites that may attract international visitors. but there are so many places for us to spend our hard earned money, with a lot less risk, so why should we travel to Colombia, when we can go to the much nearer Caribbean or South Africa, or India for less, and have no worries.

I think that Colombia is just too extreme and dangerous, destinations like Thailand are much more safer although still pretty wild!

I've knows some guys that lived in Latino America, they all live here now in Thailand because it just has become too dangerous over the past 20 years or so.

Might be ok for you because you are born there, but for tourists it just isn't safe anymore as it used to.

Cheers!

"media says lots of bad things" is what you said, and so they go along with it . No offense, but i am studing american history now, and in each chapter, the Europeans felt as if they were superior to others. Most of them have thought like that all of their lives

I think that it's because tourists are scared to get caught up in the middle of wars and are scared of the crime factors basically, no offence no!

I've met a few Colombians in my lifetime, they all appear nice.
I think so long as you stay away from 'red' areas in any country, you're safe.

There is much more to Colombia than drugs.

Drugs
Kidnappings
Gun crime
Guerrilla wafare

(Or perhaps this is how the media has painted a picture of your country?). I'm sure it's just as bad everywhere, but we don't get killed in our country (UK), as much as you do.
