Look at the calories and then divide by 16 that is the sugar in teaspoons

for example I am drinking a rootbeer it has 170 calories so 170/16=10.6

there is 3 teaspoons to a tablespoon so 10.6/3=3.5

4 tablespoons in a quarter cup so my rootbeer contains just under a quarter cup of sugar!

Now compare with a glass of orange juice (12 ounce ) of 29 grams of sugar or 6 teaspoons of sugar

Milk has 6 grams per 12 ounces

An egg has one gram (as carbohydrates)

A half cup of Ben and Jerry's Chunky Monkey has 28 grams of sugar or 6 teaspoons

How about egg nog? Well along with 329 calories per cup it has 21 grams of sugar and a whopping 34 grams of total carbohydrates. As you probably know carbohydrates are sugars.
