I parked the vehicle in the garage last night when I went back out to go someplace and placed the key in the ignation it wouldnt turn. I tried everything I could thing of but nothing its locked tight. does anyone have suggestions?

It is a 2004 blazer the steering wheel is locked tight and the wheel are straight as is the gear shift it wont move either.

Put in the correct key, (use and original not a copy) turn the steering wheel to the left and right while trying to turn the key. There will be a little steering wheel play even when locked. Most times the steering wheel is applying pressure to the lock assembly causing it not to turn.

lightly turn the steering wheel side to side as you try to start the car, if you shut the car off and your steering wheel had pressure on it it causes the steering wheel lock to be under pressure from the linkage. If you can turn the wheel even a half of an inch , its enough to free the tumbler of your ignition. My 90 Asrto van did the same thing, if I back into a barking spot and didn't straighten the wheel out before shutting the engine off I had problems turning the key in the ignition. This isn't the first question I read on this problem.
