Christmas cut-out sugar cookies- one of my favorite things to do at Christmas when I head home for the holidays (I'm 22) is make cut-out cookies with dad. We've been doing this as a family since i was probably about 5.
It takes awhile so would be good for a talk--all that rolling, and cutting, and baking, and decorating--and then you can send them out to people for holidays, too.

Here's one recipe I found online; Betty Crocker is also excellent for this.

You can make this, My family loves this and it takes a long time!
Ingredients
1 rolls; *see below
1 1/2 lb hamburger
1/3 head cabbage; shredded
1 onion; chopped
1/2 green bell pepper; chopped
1 cooking oil
Instructions
Brown hamburger, crumbling fine, as it cooks; drain and cool. Saute
shredded cabbage, onion and pepper with a tablespoon or so of oil until
tender; drain and cool. Season both fairly liberally. Mix together. (Some
kids only want hamburger in theirs, so you can leave some plain.) Roll
dough on floured board until about 1/3" thick; cut in squares about
5x5-inch. Place a large spoonful of meat mixture in the center. (If meat
is hot the bread will rise a little and Beirox will be a little doughy)
Fold the four corners to center; close seams by pinching dough together.
Place seam side down on cookie sheet. Bake at 400 degrees until lightly
browned.
Rolls:
2 packages yeast
4 cups lukewarm water
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup shortening
1 tablespoon salt
Add 8-10 cups flour, or more until dough forms a ball. Knead lightly.
Place in oiled bowl; cover with Saran Wrap. Refrigerate. Take out the
amount needed, (the rest will keep for a week or so).

Google the Mrs. Fields' Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe and rest up. This recipe involves "food processing" 5 cups of oatmeal to add to the 4 cups of flour so it makes a ton of cookies. (she can give them to her friends and you look like the cool dad to her friends) It also takes a lot to mix because it's so much it doesn't fit into my stand mixer. Mixing by hand needs a tag team because you get tired. And baking all those cookies takes a while. You can also refrigerate the dough and bake some later. It's not a hard recipe-it just takes an effort but is well worth it.

Dad,
Taking her shopping at the local mall. The trick for you is to take an interest in what she is interested in...if she wants a pedicure/manicure or perhaps a new outfit, etc. show enthusiasm and genuine interest, participate in her choices.
In reality that is all you really have to do regardless of the activity..be real, be sincere & participate in her interests. Make sure they are HER interests and not yours.
By just asking this question it shows how much you love her and that you will be fine. Just keep caring and loving her and all will be well.
