Are you giving yourself a perm? You never use anything metal around perming solution. My stylist doesn't even want you wearing a necklace when she gives a perm.

I permed my naturally wavy hair when I was younger and the curls never came out. It seems like the perm solution changed the structure of my hair and now it's VERY curly all the time. This perm was over 10 years ago, and my hair hasn't been the same since. I know this probably isn't typical, but it's just something to consider before perming.

No. Only use bobby pins to hold the curl in after you have given your hair the perm. You have to go out to the store and they have special rods that you use when perming you hair. My grandma gives her hair perms all of the time. I have recently started to give them to her because of her arthritis. Good Luck!

No don't do it, it's a bad idea. If you must do a home perm at least do it the correct way. Don't put any metal near your head, not even with the papers.

NO no no....... the metal reacts with the perm solution.... DON'T. If you want a "roller" perm, use plastic velcro rollers. No papers needed.
