Wouldn't it be that once someone starts to believe in Jesus as Lord that they've basically converted to Christianity instead of being part of their old religion?

There is a misconception that the New Testament is anti-Jewish. If you haven't read it, please take the time. I think you will be very pleasantly surprised. I am a gentile Christian and I love the Jew for they are God's chosen people. From the beginning of Judaism, there was the teaching that the Messiah would come. Therefore those who have recognized the Messiah and embraced Him are Jews in the fullest sense. They practice pure and true Judaism. The New Testament says these are natural branches on the vine and us gentile Christians are grafted in from wild stock. Jesus said salvation is of the Jews.

So called"Jews for Jesus" is a Christian organization that preys on the down-and-out, and elderly "real" Jews in order to have them believe in Jesus. They tell the "real" Jews that the only way to heaven is by believing in Jesus. Once the "real" Jews are hooked on this nonsense, "Jews for Jesus" takes most of their money.

I guess I have a problem with Jews for Jesus. To me, they are turning against thousands of years of where we came from. They are denying their own people by changing religions, so they should not claim to be Christians, under a Jewish umbrella.

Jesus is not the Messiah of prophecy. Our Messiah would be a man, not someone claiming to be G-d.

Then, maybe I should not have the problem I do have with it------I converted from Christianity to Judaism. But, it is a major problem for me.

Spiritual belief isn't necessarily the same as religion. Religion is more of a guideline. As far as I'm concerned religion is more of a formality, belief is the most important thing. Jesus Himself was a Jew.
And though you are of Jewish descent it doesn't necessarily mean you practice Judaism (even if most do).
Religiously speaking, I belief that it's said that at the end, there are no religions, just believers and non-believers.

One who is a Jew, a decendent of Abraham, is one of God's chosen people. Even if they do not practice Judaism. The Law of Judaism will no longer get any one into Heaven. The Only Way is To come to God is The Way That He proscribes and receive His free gift of Salvation. This goes for the Jew just like every one else. If one is of African decent or Asian, or Indian or or any other Race or of any ethnic background.. you do not give those up when you come to God.
Only God knows who the true decendents of Abraham are and which Jews will fullfill his plan for 144,000 of them to evangelize the world in the time of The Tribulation. But anyJew who comes To God in The Way will be received just the same as any one else who who comes in The Way.

All who come to God as He proscribes become part of The Body of The Church of which Jesus The Christ is The head. Only those of The Church will enter Heaven. These are the ones of The True Christian Faith....Jew or Gentile it dose not matter.

Messianic Jews believe that Jesus was the direct descendant of David and so their messiah. They believe he is the one who was prophesied to come in the OT. To many of them his divinity is less important than his lineage to David.

It would be more apt to say that christians hijacked the jewish faith when they created the christ myth than the other way around.

With that logic, people shouldn't be called Christians if they commit crimes and and perform all matter of sins. You don't drop your religious affilitation just because you don't observe it, or noone could claim to have a religion.

Yes because being Jewish could be your country of origin, as well as your religion.

Yeah, but you can still be ethnically Jewish without practicing Judaism. Being Jewish is religious and ethnic.
