I am an Atheist, but I'm not sure either way. Although we would be rid of all religious wars, arguments and such, I can't help but feel the world would we worse without the basic human kindness messages that religions preach.

First of all, the overwhelming vast majority of the world's wars have had nothing to do with religion.
All this talk about religion causing all these wars is, relatively speaking, an old wive's tale -- or worse, a calculated attempt by certain secularists to discredit and demean religion by trying to make it look bad.
Second, we have "arguments" about a lot of things. We have arguments about so many things, most of which are not of a religious nature -- but does the fact that we have arguments about them mean that we should ban them?
Your last sentence hits the nail on the head -- without the basic lessons that have religious roots, especially with regard to love of neighbor, our world would be a whole lot worse than it already is.

It won't be better if all religion were to simply cease to be. I also don't know how we would ever accomplish such a thing. If superstitious belief were replaced be reasoned thought then the world would be better yes. We would still have conflicts to be sure, but there would be more hope for their resolution, and less prolonged warfare than there is now with religion as the major cause of such strife.

Of course it would be better. "The basic human kindness messages that religions preach" is a relic of religion and it no longer fills that role. Ethic and morality can be taught secularly by parents and the community. There is absolutely no part of religion worth keeping around.

Definitely! Religion has had a hold on simple minds for too long.Every main religion has in the main led a very comfortable life style at the expense of its congregation. Here is a tip.I used to believe in Santa Clause but have now grown up.Chill, relax, you live and you die and that,s it. Amen.

religion brain washes people into doing some of the
most violent and Haynes things in history i don't see how it cant be all a good thing.
Yes it teaches kindness and there are good messages to be had from religion ,but it seems to cause bigger issues when people choose to only follow parts of the religion and not all of it? like thou shall not KILL.I guess if everyone could practise what they preach there would not be a problem but for some reason not everyone can do that.
Don't report me i don't report you for your opinion!!!!

to many people, religion gives hope and a sense of righteousness, after all, good deeds are very rarely rewarded, so the promise of an after life is something to look forward to.
as for war, it would still exist, that is the nature of the beast, for gain or territory, as usual, but without the moralistic excuse.

The world would be better if people thought more about their desicions. Religion itself is not what is bad, it is the fanatical religious followers that give it a bad name.

Religion is the problem. Theres not enough true christians out there. True christianity is what the world needs, follower of 1 God, Jesus Christ himself, no other Gods.
