Why must those with a religious belief insist on quoting the Bible / Quran etc (even listing the paragraphs), when those of us with differing views question the reasons or validity of their beliefs? And ... Why are they unable to present proven scientific quantifyable and repeatable evidence (Q.E.D) to the debate, preferring to refer to a book written in the middle ages as their evidence?

I'm not against religion... (except organised religion)... I fully accept that people need faith and to believe (my daughter's family all being 'Born Again Christians). Maybe I need convincing that God exists (and ergo the Devil) in a scientific way... but not by having the Bible or Quran quoted to me... So... EVIDENCE Please!

"God" was invented to make sure that anyone who wasn't male would be punished & condemned & treated as second class for all eternity. Pagans had the right idea, they worshipped men & women EQUALLY for what they could do together & what their union could create.
Anyone believing that what is written in the bible is truth is bonkers. This stuff was written & composed by men who were trying to create something to control the masses, it wasn't from the penmanship of "God" himself. Religion controlled the uneducated peasants by instilling fear of the devil into them if they did anything wrong. And, uneducated as they were, they obeyed because they didn't know any different.
I find it quite comical that we date our years from before & after christ considering there was a worls out there, however remote before anyone had even heard of this guy! People got on perfectly well before Jesus was introduced & I'm sure they could have carried on without him regardless.
Imagine how much war, destruction & suffering could have been prevented if it wasn't for religion. It's just another thing we use to differentiate from each other when what we should be doing is celebrating our similarities & trying to get on.

I don't think it's a moneyspinner, I think religion was invented to keep people in their place. Back in the 16th Century, when the peasants would complain about the horrible lives they had at the ahnds of the gentry and aristocracy they would be told that they were poor because God wanted them to poor, that was the divine order. Stopped them complaining. Nowadays organised religion is used to control the masses.
I don't have anything against people who believe, if they find comfort in it then good for them. This is just the way I see it.

There is no evidence of any sort for any religion apart from the lies and fantasies available for the gullible and insane to read in the bible, koran, talmud or other so called religious work of fiction. Anyone who believes this sort of rubbish should be locked away for life.

No and No. Well the book (The Bible) written like you say in the Middle Ages still stands the test of time and is still relevant to today's settings. Tell me one other book that has.

Because of people like you.
A better question would be; Why must those who don't believe in G-d insist on proselytizing? Aren't you, in fact, doing the very thing you are against?
