That may not be the truth in your fantasy land of Dungeons and Dragons, but in the real world, where dead means dead, our military stands the ramparts in our defense---- whether you realize it or not.

The men, women, and families of the United States Military are our saviors.

Alright, I am not going to answer some standard party line about terrorism etc, but I will tell you that I am here doing what my country asked me to do. We as soldiers don't get to pick and choose where and how we serve. I agree that we are involved in a mess over here with no easy way out. With that said I think you are doing a dis-service to all those who serve by trying to cheapen what we do. We have lost 19 soldiers since our deployment and I think they would have disagreed with you as well.

If you feel so strongly about how the military should or should not be used to keep our nation safe then go in to politics so you can do more than just talk.

It's already been said but I hope to elaborate a bit. Violent extremist Islam is a plague on our world. They have declaired that they will not stop until the entire world is forced to pray the same way they are so if anyone wants to characterise what is happening in the middle east as a religious war they are probably right. But the sides are radical islam vs. everyone else (not just christianity) I for one would much rather see this carried out on their land than here in the US. Selfish of me I know but hey, we didn't ask for any of this (remember 9/11?) we would rather not have to shoot the little bastards, but if they demand to be shot I am proud that our military is there to do it.

What do you think the truth is? Or do you have any ideas?

When our troops get pulled out and the US gets attacked, we will get a very clear idea of how much they were protecting us. But even then there will be those like you who can't get the picture. Only because they are there do you get not to worry about it.

To those of you who are protecting us, thank you and God bless you.

Happy stable countries, where people love eachother and enjoy their personal freedoms love us, or could care less about us, or hate us but are too busy enjoying life to mess with us. Our military is trying to shake up scary places where terrorist are born, bred, and financed hoping a more peaceful society will establish itself.

David Duke once said that the war in Iraq was not a war for America's defence, it was a war for Israel.

Its baffling to see that information regarding the destruction of Iraq's WMDs was somehow misinterprated by God knows who. And even Clinton believed that Iraq still had WMDs. Some say that Israel has something to do with that.

Bush was dumb enough to believe that Saddam and Bin Laden collaborated with one another and still had the WMDs. He rushed to the Iraqi invasion. And what happened? It was a magnet for extremists. Now the Iraq violence is like a cycle, a civil. And it is the Iraqi people and the American troops that are paying the price.

You can go to the link to check out more if you want. There is a lot of information that the US media normally don't put out.

US citizens are told this repeatedly. Many have formed this strong belief based upon the repetitions, their political party affiliation and their need to believe that our government is in good hands.

Seneca - To say that the USE being made of our troops is not a wise one, is totally different from criticizing the military itself. We have civilian leadership that determines where the military goes and what it does.

U r right,the troops r not protecting anything there .
Iraq NEVER threatned the usa,it never attacked it or its interests,
actually the troops is out there kiling ,steeling and raping innocent civ and increasing the hate for usa and the risk of more attacks against it and its ppl allover the world.
american ppl was brainwashed by the gov&the zionist media to make them beleive and support things that r not true at all.
the truth is ,
ppl r dying in Iraq everyday for NO reason at all.
