LADIES, if you have ever wondered if God has a divine plan for your vaginas, wonder no more.
Kathern Joyce At The Nation has an amazing expose’ on “Quiverfull mothers.”

“Quiverfull mothers” try to have UPWARDS of six children. They home-school their families, attend fundamentalist churches and follow biblical guidelines of male headship--"Father knows best"--and female submissiveness. They refuse any attempt to regulate pregnancy.”[Ref. at: www.thenation.com/doc/20061127/joyce]

Quiverfull began with the publication of Rick and Jan Hess's 1989 book, A Full Quiver: Family Planning and the Lordship of Christ, which argues that God, as the "Great Physician" and sole "Birth Controller," opens and closes the womb on a case-by-case basis. Women's attempts to control their own bodies--the Lord's temple--are a seizure of divine power.

Boy, you really feel threatened by this idea, don't you? Why? What difference could it possibly make to you what other women, with the same rights as you, do with their bodies? If they are happy, want as many children as they can have, and freely choose to allow men to have authority over them, why do you not show them the same respect you would expect them to show you? Perhaps you are not as enlightened a thinker as you think you are.

My friend believes this way. She thinks God will only let you have the kids he wants you to, no more, no less.

People like this tend to forget God also gave us free will, to make the choices in our lives we see fit.
