I hardly ever close the door and get yelled at.
But never when I am alone. Once in a hotel room the maid came in and I was in full view. So on rare occasions, if it crosses my mind, around noon at a hotel I will close the door.

Well this is a strange question, one I had never really thought of before. And the answer is, I close the door even when alone. Obviously, a habit. Not a bad one to possess. Thanks for asking, God bless****

It's funny, I do, just like that guy who said, 'in case a burglar comes in'. In which case, I think I'd have more to worry about than my privacy!
It is out of habit, I think, nobody likes being walked in on while they are constipated.

I'm pretty sure that this isn't a matter of etiquette, since no one else is effected.

I usually do, though sometimes I don't.

If you live with others, you don't know if they will come home; if you don't, it doesn't matter to anyone but you.
