They use to give it away, like when you homestead . Pennsylvania was giving land away in the 1950's. Probably today in Ne. you can buy rural land for about $10. to $50. per acre. In Omaha, surely it costs a lot more. NE. may still have homesteading?

Depends on how much you want ? I think you can get a good chunk for 4 cows and 3 chickens but that's what I payed years ago.You might have to come up with a goat or 2 at today's prices
