Stay away from those damn lunchables. They are filled with nothing but crap.
Here are some good kids lunches ideas.

A wrap. Ham and cheese wrapped in a tortilla shell. If they like mustard or mayo or anything like that on...you can put some of that on. If they have a microwave they can use...they can even heat them up to melt the cheese if they wish..easy and cheap for you too.

Crakers and dip. Do they like tuna or chicken salad? Make up some of either of these and send some whole wheat crakers for them to dip in the tuna.

Cereal. Cereal is always a super easy meal..and kids love it. As long as you put some kind of protein in their lunch with the cereal (peanut butter, yogurt) it will definetly hold them over until after school. I love Kashi organic cinnamon shredded wheat..its sweet like frosted mini wheats, but its organic and wholesome.

Cracker stackers are always good too....if you use good ingredients...they can have the ease of a lunchable, with good ingredients instead of crappy ones. Use a cooked chicken breast..like one from last nights supper, and cut it into chunks. Cut up a few slices of hard natural cheese, not the processed ones like kraft singles. Use chedder, or colby jack is my favorite. Then put on a whole wheat cracker. That too if they want can be put in the microwave so the cheese melts.

Soup. Homemade soup is a great one. Its hearty, you can hide all kinds of stuff in soup that kids won't even know is there...veggies especially. Soup and a cheese sandwich is a good one.

Some side items are....
Apple slices with peanut butter, baby carrots with peanut butter, celery with raisins and peanut butter, (dont give your kids chips...they are emtpy calories) any kind of fruit. You can even make them a cream cheese fruit dip if you like. This is way better than a cupcake or something for thier dessert. Salad if they'll eat it. String cheese. Yogurt, try to buy the lowfat and organic versions with live active cultures(good for the tummy). Whole wheat crackers with peanut butter. My mom used to make me a rice cake sandwich. You take two rice cakes and spread peanut butter in between....it was good. You could send them those peanut butter packets and jelly packets and they can make thier own sandwiches with crackers.
You can send nuts, raisins, dates, dried banana chips or dried apple rings.
Hope you can get some ideas from this.

Organic pre-washed baby carrots and celery hearts are easy (no prep) small, (finger food) and sweet. Kids like them alone, or with a dip. Try to choose a healthy dip. A tangy or mild humus or even a sweetened yogurt is OK.
Raisins are "brain food", and again easy, small, and don't spoil. Also, I find my kids eat more fresh fruit if I slice it into small containers, pour on some orange juice to help stop the oxidation, and provide a disposable fun fork or spoon. That way they don't necessarily waste a whole piece of fruit if they aren't hungry.
Supper time leftovers like chicken or beef can be wrapped in a pita or soft taco shell. Its more interesting than a sandwich and easy for you to make once you get the hang of it.

Snack-a-Jacks are an alternative to crisps and sweets as you can buy sweet and savoury flavours. Marmite sandwiches, you can make these fun by rolling the sandwiches up then cutting them into bite size pieces to look like roulades. Dried mixed fruit or fresh you can buy fruitina in small lunchbox sizes. A mixture of veg sticks i.e. Celery, carrots and bell peppers and maybe put in a cheese straw and a milk shake for calcium. I dont think children should have everything low-fat and sugar-free!

In childrens lunches you should always pack things that are nutritious yet delicious. I would pack a peanut butter and banana sandwhich, a raison nut muffin( make sure it is not loaded with butter or fat, make it small) some crackers with cheese, celery or carrot sticks, and flavored water. ( don't put soda's in your kids lunch, studies show that if someone drinks a soda everyday for a year than they will gain 13 pounds) Hope they enjoy!

Just load them with apples, bananas, cherry tomatoes, grapes, carrot + cucumber sticks.
Use tuna with red peppers + sweetcorn, ham and lettuce and cucumber for sandwhiches or you could put them in a pitta bread.
You can make your own flapjacks for treats with fruit in them and you get to control the amount of sugar they're having that way.
Give pure fruit juice there are so many different kinds you can get and they're so tasty and sweet.
Don't bother with choccy or crisps if you can get away with it hehe cause they just eat them and leave the best stuff don't they.

how about pasta or rice mixed with chopped raw veggies, cheese, chicken etc, with a salad dressing on. Fruit salad is also a good one for them.
