If I was any type of friend I would stick buy her and still see her. If not then the person is not worth knowing.

What could you do? If she doesn't want a relationship, she doesn't want a relationship. I imagine the guy would walk away.
Relationships of any sort don't usually work unless both people want the same thing. If the guy wants to be involved romantically and the woman does, it is bound to hurt - no matter what the reasons.
Alot of people thing it is best to end these sorts of situations as soon as possible. I'm in a similar situation, and I've chosen to stay friends, but it hurts rather a lot af a huge part of me is forever wondering if he will ever be ready to be with me. Sometimes it is easier to walk away, and not have the constant worry about where things are going.

Sometimes a woman or a man might say that to let you down gently. Or it is that they do not want a relationship with out their total commitment which is commendible. They may feel unable to commit emotionally for now but if the strenght of feeling was there it would not be a matter for thought...is that making sense. She surely does like you, wants you around maybe but does not want you solely.
I would think long and hard about hovering about waiting for her to make up her mind if it is you she wants or if she has what she considers a better offer. Alternatively she could have someone else in mind and waiting to see if they come up trumps.

I'd stick with her for a while and always with the hope that whatever her reasons for turning me down in the past might change and we might get to get together as a couple. If i really fancied the pants off her i would'nd be able to put up with her seeing someone else,so if she went off with someone else id just have to not see her anymore or kill her!

Move on, try to be friends and have no hard feelings. Some things are just not meant to be.
