Use a sharp razor. Old razors, because they're dull, can pull at the hair, and the multiple passes you need to make with them pretty much guarantee you'll get irritation.
Soak the hair for at least five minutes before shaving, and use a moisturizing shave gel. This will soften the hair, thus allowing you to make less passes with the razor.
Shave gently in the direction of the hair growth instead of against the grain. That way you'll prevent ingrown hairs.
Use a soothing, alcohol-free, fragrance-free, menthol-free, irritant-free aftershave lotion.

It's razor rash, you can get it anywhere you shave, but it's more likely to come up in sensitive places.
The more you shave the less you get it (the skin hardens a little, but you'd never notice it), but it's unlikely you'll do anyway with it altogether. That's another reason why people favour waxing over shaving.
To minimise the razor rash, soak the area to be shaved in warm water for a while before shaving (I go for reading a magazine whilst I'm in the bath), gently exfoilate, then lather up the area with an unperfumed soap, shave using a fresh blade and after drying apply some cheap, unperfumed aquias cream (I use oilatum).

To prevent razor rash use a shaver like the Seiko Cleancut. Its used by thousands of people worldwide to shave pubic hair and doesn't nick, cut or bite. Best of all it leaves you with baby smooth skin. It only works on stubble length hair so you need a good trimmer like the Shavy too.

Try using shaving gel instead of soap, and shave while having a shower or bath. Try not to shave every 2nd day, let it grow for about 5 - 7 days, then shave again, then you shouldn't have any spots. Try a little bit of moisturiser too after you've shaven. Goodluck!

HI, it depends on what you are using for shaving you pubic hair, and know that the pubic hair is some how harder and on the process of shaving you might end up causing some cuttings especially when you are using razor blade. remember that around that area pimples are common.

If this is regular and on a every other day basis , I assume the hair is short and spiky. Use good shaving foam IE Gilette, and a new disposable shaver always. ...and the golden rule is never be in a hurry. Clean with Eusol solution or even try after shave...ouch!

no no no, none of you have obviously shaved this area on a regular basis!
No creams, oils or new razors work at avoiding this rash
The only thing that guarantees 100% smoothness, 100% of the time is to buy a 'Seiko Cleancut' and do it every couple of days. Personal guarantee of 10 years use, this wonderful invention was introduced to me when I was a dancer and I have never gone back!

They may just be a razor rash so just use baby oil when shaving and moisurise after or it could be ingrowing hairs and if you exfoliate the skin where you are shaving this helps to prevent ingrown hairs.

Try having a dry shave - no water or shaving gel. Sounds strange but really does work (just be very careful)

shave in the direction of the hair growth and dont shave very hard - it causes ingrown hairs in the sensitive area, which is what im guessing you have! use shaving foam - but make sure its ok to use in the genital area - and always be gentle and careful. make sure you shave in warm water.
