Panasonic GS-10(camcorder) dosen't accept cassettes, what can I do?

Hi everybody, well, I have a Panasonic GS-10(camcorder) and it doesn't accept the cassettes, well, when I open the little door the mechanism come up and gets open to let me put the cassette inside, but when I close it, it doesn't come down, instead, if don't put the cassette, it goes back down.Yet, if I'm so lucky that it accept the cassette(because 0.5/100 times it works), it doesn't record!...What is it?

It's a manufacturer's defect. I hope you
have a warranty or a return policy on it.
