Driving without insurance can get you car towed in many states. Driving without registration will get you a ticket. Just go to your DMV and get another copy. I dont have to tell you that the copy will be far less than the ticket.

Yes its an offense to drive a vehicle without valid proof of registration according to Motor Vehicle Act. Only exception is for vehicles which has engine power upto 35cc. When you're driving a vehicle in public then its incumbent on you to keep the Certificate of Registration (known as Blue Book), Payment of Road Tax Receipt/s, Insurance Certificate, (Rout Permit for Bus, Truck & Heavy Vehicles), and the Driving License. When driving a 2-W then Helmet for the driver and pillion rider. Police or Motor Vehicle authorities have no right to seize the vehicle but to seize whatever document available and give a copy of the Seizure List. Keep it in mind that if you're not driving your own vehicle then a proper Photo-Authorization also needed. Quantum of the fine is depending upon the Rules framed by individual State.
