I like both. It depends on what you are looking for. Do you want a dog you have to walk everyday or get outside before they make a mess in your house, or do you want a cat that has a smelly litter box to clean every week? Dogs and cats have all sorts of different personalities. Some shed more than others. Dogs are more loyal and with training will come when called and seem to be happy just because of you. Cats tend to be more independent but some are just as loyal as dogs.. Do you want a lap dog/cat or a more playful/independent one? These are all good questions to ask.

dogs require a lot more attention and time, ie behavioural training, exercise, grooming, general companionship where as cat's are more independant and are happy to lie around in the sun all day sleeping.
If you don't have the time for a dog and all the things that go with it then get a cat.. you don't need to walk a cat, just food, some playtime and cuddles and a safe haven to sleep is sufficient. Make sure you get it spayed tho otherwise if it's a boy it will wonder and a girl will produce many unwanted kittens
Good luck

dont actually know if you asking a question about dogs or cats but asumming that your asking which do you perfer. I like dogs over cats, ive always disliked cats, and had a dog...now ive moved to within the city and cant have a dog. neighbors complained, and i felt bad about having him chained all the time, but if i didnt the dog catcher would get him...so i gave him away...tried the cat thing after that as a house cat and the kids drove it crazy....our little boy who is going on 4 would grab by the neck and sling as far as he could so we got rid of it too.

I have 2 of each. But when recommending which to get for others I tell people to think about their lifestyle.
Dogs are very demanding creatures when it comes to time and attention.Having a dog is much like having a 4 yr.old underfoot until the day it dies. They are very social animals and don't do well if left alone for long periods. For them it's much like being put in prison if we stick them outside on a chain or in a kennel in all kinds of weather. And we can't leave them in the house unless we've given them the proper amount of exercise and mental stimulation they need to stay happy and healthy. If we don't provide these things then the dog becomes bored and starts destroying things for entertainment while it waits for us to come home.
Cats are far more independant. The older they get the less they rely on us being there.Seems at times that as long as the litter box is cleaned daily and there's food and water in the bowls they could care less if I'm home or not.

Dog, cats are way too independent for my liking. if you aren't around the house alot, a cat would be better. It takes care of it's self.

Most definetly a dog, they are loyal and will be your best friend for life, not saying a cat wouldn't be, but a dog will also protect you. And a boston terrier is the way to go, easy maintenence, and very true to their owner, and easy to house train, ansd sooo cute! good luck to you.

dog - dogs depend on you. they are loyal and love you! you can count on them, (as long as you train them right!) and they are great companians! Cats on the other hand...they are great in the sense that when they want a warm soft napping place they will curl up on you, but generally, they are more independant and tend not to like big groups of people!
Dogs all the way!!
