Open the tray where you put the DVD in and clean with a vacuum cleaner. Check all leads like the scart lead. If none of that works - it probably isn't worth having repaired. Mine cost less than £30 and does DIV X and plays all kinds of disk. Buy a new one! Shop around - some really good bargains in sales. I used to give my website as my source as there is a DVD player on my Techno page that is less than £30 and will play re-writable disks that I've done on my computer and everything - great for music on DVD too. But although I spend time answering technical questions for Yahoo - they send me abusive emails if I put my Home Page for my tiny web site as a source - some witch keeps clicking the abuse button. You can go to my Yahoo 360 page and get my web page address there though - bloody nuisance - lock them all up in polls and surveys and don't let the buggers out! lol

It's a manufacturer's defect.
It is in your best interest to get
a new universal DVD player. Other-
wise, take yours in for warranty servicing.

Most likely a defect is in the laser pick up. Your best bet is to get a new player---cheaper in the long run.
