Uncooked Pork

You are way overreacting. I'm sure the pork was fine. If the juices ran clear, it should have been cooked sufficiently. The best thing to do to ease your mind is call your doctor's office and get some advice. I bet it will be a long time before you eat pork again, though! Seriously, you'll be OK, don't worry so much.

I don't know where you are from but the condition of pork in today's market is much better than 50 - 75 years ago when pigs scavenged about for there diet. Yes one should still take precautions when cooking pork but I don't think that eating a few pieces of undercooked pork will lead directly to jail along with a cast and crew of "Tape" worms. That pinkish color you describe does not indicate in any way that that ribs were not brought up to the proper temperature for safe consumption. I have eaten bad pork on a trip to Mexico and its effects were felt with a matter of hours. My problem was that the meat was handled on an unsanitary wood cutting board. Nothing to do with "Tape" worms. I suggest that you try to relax, see if what your feeling may not simply be nerves. I think you'll be fine. It is extremely rare in the West to have problems with pork these days..... Relax, your going to be fine...

You are most likely fine. Symptoms usually take some time to begin. However, if you are really concerned, go to your doctor. If you did get any sort of infection, you would be able to get treatment. The sooner the better. Hope that helps. Take care.

Tapeworms in pork are extremely rare, and even pork that is cooked sufficiently is often pinkish in colour. As far as your headache and sinus problem, you probably have a sinus infection or a cold.

I'm sure you will be fine. My ex-boyfriend owns a meat market. We always ate BBQ and meat constantly. He said it ruined the flavour by overcooking it so he would purposely undercook it to have it more tender and such. I have eaten raw, yes raw steak. Just don't eat undercooked chicken. Anyways, you should be fine because the health standards for meat are very high these days, so tapeworms are unlikely. Most likely if anything you will get a case of diarrhea, not a headache and sinus pain. You are worrying too much and that is what is causing those symptoms. When my dad was a kid he used to eat raw hamburger with salt on it, my uncle still does and that is the one of the worst things to eat raw besides chicken. I am not advocating eating raw meat, but a little undercooked should be fine. I have a gross story for you...my ex was very stingy even though he had a lot of money. He saved everything. He had left some porkchops in the fridge too long and tried to wash them off and freezed them. He cooked me one (I had no idea what he did) and tried to pass it off as fresh. I had a cold so I couldn't smell it, but one of his kids starting complaining of a rancid smell and we realized it was the pork chops! I had already eaten most of one. It was clearly spoiled and nothing happened to me except I vomited from being so grossed out!

In the UNLIKELY event that you do start having uncontrollable diarrhea or a fever, vomiting, etc you should go see a doctor or ER.

Cool it , you are making yourself sick. We are so over cautious about everything that we make ourselves sick. Nothing will happen to you. Most of all will not affect your sinuses and tapeworms are very rare. Stop being paranoid.
