My friend and I are taking a trip to New York in a few weeks and we are staying at the Skyline Hotel in the Hell's Kitchen-Clinton area, which is why we are asking this question. Any information would be appreciated. Also, if any New Yorkers or visitors to New York, know anything about this hotel and the area, we would appreciate those comments as well. Thanks.

I don't know about the hotel. The area is safe and close to mid Manhattan. And there is the subway, it will take you anywhere in the city. Have a great time!

Hell's Kitchen is a stone's throw from midtown, especially Times Square, and the subways are close as well.

It used to be a bad neighborhood, but it's fairly well gentrified. A firnd of mine, an attractive single woman, lived there for years in the 90s with no problems. But if you don't feel safe at night, stick to the main, well-lit streets, or take a taxi to/from the hotel, as a precaution (although an unneccesary one in my book).

I don't like that area @ night. Maybe try for something in a true "Midtown East" or "Midtown West" area.
