There is no scientific evidence that chocolate, french fries or other greasy foods cause acne. Acne is a skin disorder that can affect people at all ages, from infancy to old age. The years from adolescence to middle age tend to be the most troublesome as far as acne is concerned.

Since the exact source of acne is not known, It is important to remember that there is no single medicine for acne treatment. Here are some guidelines to follow:

* Wash your skin twice a day with warm water and a gentle pH balanced soap that does not contain sulfur, chemicals, or perfume.

* Touch your face only when your hands are clean, wash them frequently and avoid touching your nasal area and then your skin.

* Steam your face a few times a week to open and cleanse your pores. Boil some water in a pot on the stove, turn off the heat, cover your head and face with a towel and hang your face over the pot. Take your face away from the heat whenever you need to, and when the steam is gone, rinse your face with cold water.

* Check out your diet. Try eating a diet high in fiber (salads, bran, complex carbohydrates), and lots of water. This will keep your digestive system working so that your skin is not burdened by wastes your system can't handle. Keep your diet low in fat and sugar. Eating healthier foods insures that your skin gets the nutrients it needs. Food allergies may also contribute to acne. You might try eliminating dairy products, wheat, and/or food preservatives.

Hello Missy are you drinking your 6-8 glasses of water daily and eating your 5 pieces of fruit and vegetables -getting plenty of fresh air and your proper beauty sleep before 10pm - this is recommended to give your a lovely clear complexion in the long run.

Avoid squeezing existing spots or touching your face as this carries bacteria and cross infection that spreads the spots in the first place so be careful of that in future.

If you have already tried dabbing the spot with toothpaste at bedtime and it does not work for you however if you haven't already tried it - then do try it is very effective.

You could then try haemorrhoid cream (for piles) originally it works wonders on spots and is the secret weapon used by make up artists around the world for boy band zits.

Hopefully this is help-full and you get rid of these spots once and for all good luck.

Definately no soap on your face is a start, just splash with water! If you cant live without soap then buy a natural soap that doesnt contain perfumes. I have found if I put moisturizers and other lotions on my face it becomes worse and I break out in spots! You have natural oils in your skin and if you use soaps, lotions etc you are washing the natural oils out of your skin and your skin is working overtime and produces more oils than you need so just try splashing with water for a while and see if it works!! It works for me, I havent had a spot for some years now!! Your age too could be part of problem too, hormones etc, your face could be producing too much oils, but honestly try no soaps or anything for a few weeks and see how you get on!!! Good luck hun xxx

drink lots of water
don't wear too much make up
always remove make up before going to sleep

get tested for allergies - you might be eating something your body doesn't like

are your spots there all the time or just at certain times of the month?

also - it might just be puberty - they may disappear in a year or so..

tea tree oil is very good for spots - also, put toothpaste on them before you go to sleep - just a dab

Hi. 'Sudacrem' is a brilliant way of dealing with sores, spots, burns etc. I know its normally for babies, but recently i burnt myself and it killed me, i put sudacrem on and within minutes the sting had gone. I also put it on my spots and it clears virtually overnight. Please try it, i think it might just do the trick for you. Its not that expensive either and a tub lasts for ages and ages. Good Luck.
