i really do wish people would stop making their own version of the bible
i refer to this question and answer at the bottom
http://uk.answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Ao5RYLuM_KvnUJwEvhZ5ntEgBgx.?qid=20061119042457AAD65WX
it seems that people believe that only Christians may have prophetic dreams ... non Christians who do this are getting it from the devil and not from God
the answerer gives a passage of the bible to explain this
it reads ...
and it shall come to pass afterward that i shall pour out my spirit on the flesh , and your sons and daughters shall prophesy , your old men will dream dreams , your young men shall see visions

nowehere does it say they Must be Christian
why do people insist on creating their own version to suit themself , when the words are so simple and easily read ?

i do feel that Christianity would be much more accepted by non Christians if people didnt try to make it fit just for them ...
some Christians make the bible harder to understand than it really is and take from it what should be beautiful teachings

Jo Fo
that verse was given by a Christian not me .. to explain why Christians are given propetic dreams only
i was merely pointing out that , that is not what the verse said
i have no reason to be jealous .. i feel the more gifts people have to enlighten the world the better ( Christian or otherwise )

Mav think that is silly. Does anyone remember Pharoah who had dreams that Joseph interpreted? Pharoah was not Christian, nor was he Jewish..

In the verse that you cite is not God speaking to His elect? Peter explains so in Acts 2. You do not understand if you think that God will pour out His spirit upon the unregenerate.

I think you are unwise to choose this particular verse to support your contention.

You make a fair point in that dreams from God may be given to anyone. It is surely foolish to try to limit God in His all wise and sovereign will. Many are called though few be chosen.

I should prefer Job 33 for an authority, at the risk of longwindedness I write it out.

For God speaketh once, yea twice, yet man perceiveth it not
In a dream, in the vision of the night, when deep sleep falleth upon men , in the slumberings upon the bed.
Then he openeth the ears of men and sealeth their instruction,
that he may withdraw man from his purpose and hide pride from man.
He keepeth back his soul from the pit, and his life from perishing by the sword.....

God always has a purpose and speaks to call men back from their self destruction but often men do not understand and need an interpreter - If there be a messenger with him, an interpreter, one among a thousand to shew unto man His uprightness, v23.

Are we not so full of ourselves?

If only man would humble himself and seek God. Lo, all these things worketh God oftentimes with man,v29.

Do I detect some jealousy against Christians in your question? Or is it the facile nature of some of their answers that you dislike?

I, myself had prophetic dreams before I became a Christian. I didn't understand them at the time that they occurred. But through time I discovered what they were. In essence, my dreams are what brought me to become a Christian. I felt that they were a gift from God, and I wanted to repay Him by giving my life to Him.
I feel that others can have that same gift, even if they aren't specifically a Christian. In this particular verse from the Bible, it doesn't mention that one has to be a Christian.

Your point is well taken and many of us Christians take odds with the ones that do that as well. That is a real abuse of Joel 2 but there are some "Christians" that will not even listen to their own Bibles unless it says what they want it to say.

All humans have an ego Baby Girl! That's why they act bigger than they
are, and we get hurt by it.
People will always act this way because they lack self-respect. But acting
the same way back, doesn't help anybody find their self-respect.
I get angry too, but remember. There are outside forces at work, on
many levels, that don't have humanity's best interests at Heart. The Devil is just a "focus point" referring to our enemies. Blame the Devil!

Odd thing about prophecy, it has to have a solution along with the warning. Dreaming dreams? Was that a rare thing? The problem you refer to is that the words don't make sense unless one is wise, and wisdom comes from experience, not textbooks.

You judge a spirit by its fruit.
God can speak to non christians but the truth is many people seek their wisdom from other fonts of knowledge such as the witch of endor.. And the spirit in question in that quote is the "holy spirit"

The Bible passages mean just what they say. No caveats and no special conditions. You and I will have prophetic dreams as well as many many other people, Christian and non-Christian alike.

yes pangel as i have said before we hear from 3 wells

our heart... the corrupt body...

the spirit... from God...

and the enemy...

it is learning to judge the fruits and know his voice to kno wits him...

it is hard to tell the difference between the two,.. but the fruits wont lie... i say two cuz the source of our heart it is corrupt...

so two main sources.

God doesnt usually focus on death or sad things the enemy does...

that is the biggest hint a gift isnt from God. is if it is about death i have a friend she thinks God has gifted her to see peoples deaths before they happen... and she does see them...

she is only now realizing he has better things to show her and its not him,.

I am sure you know what is a Frog in the well

A frog fell into the well...all frogs of the well gathered round him and asked where he came from. The outside frog said from a very big lake.

The well frog jumped half of the well and asked your lake cant be bigger than that ! The lake frog said-No way ..it is faaaaar bigger

The well frogs' leader came and jumped from one wall of the well right upto the opposite...and proudly asked--well certainly lesser than that

The lake frog said - No far far bigger than that

All the well frogs were furious and killed that frog for Blasphemy...as their leader has told...there cant be a bigger water body than the well...where they have been living for ages

Aren't the religious people behaving like a Frog in the Well??

Dear Pangel these are known as "false prophets" and they shall dumbfound many believers and lead them astray.

When they come to meet the Lord he will say depart from me I never knew you the only people that are being fooled are themselves

Just pray from them and leave them for the Lord Jesus.
