Quite normal for this to occur post infection providing you have no chest pain or shortness of breath. If it reoccurs and you are worried don't hesitate to seek expert opinion form your GP.Don't forget NHSdirect 08454647.Excellent resource.

I suggest you go to the doctor, but don't be too worried. I spent two months coughing up blood when I had whooping cough and pneumonia simultaneously.

If the blood was bright colored, (not dark and clotted) then you should call your dr.
If it's dark, it may just be a "scab" that's being passed out of your body through the easiest ejection.

probably from your throat or nose,but mention it to your doctor within a week
