it was invented in china(lo-mein) . then brought back to italy by an explorer (forget wich one) It's been a long time since 4th grade...anyway the chineese invented it and the italians perfected it.

I believe the shape of the pasta was invented in Italy. However, there is a some dispute as to if it was originated in China and then introduced to Italy. But my bet is on Italy.

maccheroni... or macaroni in american way were invented in italy,is just a shape of pasta...in italy there are so many shapes!! i say in italy because macaroni are made just with tipycal italian pasta recepie and grain (grano duro).
just spaghetti are also made in china, but everything else just in italy...
about pasta origin..who know?but italian is the best
