Porcine do lactate and their milk I will assume would taste great, because it is made of 8.5% fat in relation to the fat that makes up 3.5% of the components in cows milk. The other components such as lactose and water are found at nearly the same percentages in pig's milk. However, pigs will on average produce 13 lbs of milk in a day as compared to cows that produce 65 lbs of milk on average per day. Pigs unlike cows cannot become pregnant while lactating and therefore possess a severe economic problem to producers. whfle pigs consume less feed per day, economics does not allow pigs to be a viable source of dairy products.
The biggest challenge facing the porcine dairy industry is collecting the product. Pigs on average have fourteen teats as opposed to cows that have four teats. Pigs also differ from cows in their milk ejection time, a cows milk ejection is stimulated by the hoimone oxytocin and can last ten minutes, where as a pig's milk ejection time only last fifleen seconds as the suckling pigs stimulate the release of oxytocin. The technology of a 14 cupped mechanized milking machine that can milk a pig in 15 seconds is not available to pork producers.

Could it be that you can obtain more milk from cows and goats than you can from pigs? No doubt people have tried pigs milk in the past. If there was a money making opportunity there people would definitely be collecting pigs milk!
Personally i think YUCK!

Pigs are notorious difficult to milk, they wont give up any milk unless all the nipples are attached to their young. This ensures all the piglets get a fair share. The other, and main reason being is would you fancy drinking pigs milk??

That's an interesting question. Maybe in the olden days, before sterilization was invented, cows milk and goats milk was safer for human consumption so people just drank these? Or maybe pigs produce too many piglets so there isn't much left for us humans?

Because it is not very convinient to milk a pig. it is relatively easy to milk c cow or a goat because of height and teat position and long enough to squeeze and milk them but for pig how do you raise the height and secondly too many teats and little yield.

I really don't know - I do know however that humans are the only species that CHOOSE to drink another species milk. Although we give cows milk to cats, in the wild it would not be their choice. - Can you imagine a cat going to a cow and drinking from its udders? lol!

I have no idea, but if you think about this, human beings are the only animals on the planet that drink milk from another animal.

Personally, I think it is disgusting to drink another animal's breast milk! I would never drink it when I was little and got yelled at all the time.
