They beat the English in 1066 in the battle of Hastings but no i don't think they have won a war since,they are wimps and it's a well known fact because they left the British to fight on their own in both world wars.The only good leader the French have had is Napoleon who was the Emperor of France and they did hardly anything in the second world war compared to Britain and America.They also lost the 100 year war with England(and Wales because Wales was the first country England took over to make the UK)and it just goes to show that France are rubbish and are not brave at all.

France contributed a large number of troops in World War II. More than 300,000 troops that fled at Dunkirk were French army Regulars. Lets also not forget the valuable French Resistance which helped tie down German troops, and provide Intelligence and communications for the Allies.

well France is a very old country. They were involved in a lot of wars, had a lot of military chiefs of great importance, won a lot of wars. this including the first world war.
Everybody should know of the battle of Tours (or Poitiers) for example. Or the battle of Orleans, a turning point in european history. Ever heard of Louis 14???

France was involved in Irak I. they are in Afghanistan currently.

Second, about the meaning of your question, Bush is a whimp. This administration is a whimp. It never dared to attack the real ones who were behind 9/11.
I mean Saoudi Arabia, Pakistan. The ones that are behind the muslim brotherhood and the talibans. the ones who are spreading muslim propaganda and money around the world.the ones who are hiding Bin Laden (in Pakistan).

so this administration told you that Saddam was the enemy. because they were cowards and whimps. they thought Irak was going to be a piece of cake. and they told you that France was the enemy. how pitiful!!

and now they are LOSING. and the big winners are again the islamist extremists.

face it: the real whimps, this administration, are currently losing a war in Irak, a war with no sense at all. because it was and is still sooooooooo afraid to attack the real enemies.

Yes they won many wars when Napoleon was the Leader and General, he was a brilliant strategist and had won Italy, Spain,
Prussia, Egypt, Poland, Russia was his downfall, he conquered Russia too, but when he moved into Moscow, the Russian Partisans set Fire to everything, he had no supplies and he and his Troops had to flee and endure the brutal Russian Winter, most of his Troops froze to death. Russia was conquered, but beat Napoleon. The French are not Wimps by any means. They have fought bravely-in many battles.

the last one they really one was the war to get the English out of France and then that was with the help of Joan of arch. pretty bad when a poor illiterate farm girl has a bigger set than French men huh. and then after she did that they turned their back on her letting the English burn her at the stake. the moral of the French is u can help them drive a force out of France but soon after they will stab u in the back. napoleon was a great general and won many battles but fell short of winning the war Russia and waterloo ring any bells?

and as to johnboy we (America) won the war of 1812 the Mexican war the Spanish war ww1 was a stalemate till we got involved and england was about to be taken out along with Russia till we entered ww2. Korea was a stalemate and Nam was a loss.so u do the math

You must first define a war, and also a win!

I'm certain that France has won many battles in military combat. In order to win a war, sometimes you have to lose a battle (or many battles).

Wars can be fought in many ways, as can battles. The most difficult enemy to defeat is an enemy who will not fight a war in the same way that you want to fight it.

Consider Tibet, and the war or battles which occurred there. Is the war over now?

since the terror (when many many people where sent to the guillotine, not just aristos) after the french revolution, the way it all happened in a blood thirsty frenzy, made the french realise that it is not worth spilling blood needlessly. i think it takes alot of strength to know when you have done something wrong... the US have as yet to realise how easily brainwashed they are (just look at the mccarthy years!).... whilst in ww2 you may see it as a weakness that they surrended and saved thousands of lives as a result, many french people fought the nazis in the resistance, and if it hadn't of been for them, victory of the war would not have been possible with or without the US.
when the time comes, you are going to bloody glad the french are what/who they are... so i would suggest that you didn't dig too big a hole for yourself... or i'll right here waiting to tell you i told you so! :)

They used to have courage and stick to it when a fight started then they learned the US and other countries could do the fighting for them. After getting a beating in Viet Nam and Algeria they lost their nerve. Now they are so tied up in entitlement programs they have to get by taking bribes from Iran and others. Too bad France has deteriorated so badly.
