You need to request screening. Your provider will not test you automatically, atleast they shouldn't be doing so. If you want screening you need/should request it.
You can be screened for:
1. Chlamyida and gonnerrhea--it is done with a sample of cervical cells, your cervix is swabbed.
2. HIV--a blood test or it may also be an oral cell sample.
3. Syphillis--tested with a blood sample
4. Hepatitis--tested for with a blood sample. A vaccine is available.
You can not be tested for:
1. Herpes and genital warts--there is no test for these two unless you have bumps or sores at the time of your exam.
2. Trichomoniasis--is not routinely tested for unless you are having symptoms that indicate that it is a possibility.

To be clear:
A "pap" test is a cervical swab that collects a sample of cervical cells and tests them for abnormalities. This test is done as a cervical cancer screening tool. A "pap" test does not usually screen for HPV unless the pap comes back abnormal, then they may screen for the HPV virus. There are many strains of HPV. Some of the strains cause genital warts and some of the other strains cause abnormal paps, it is typically one or the other, not both.
Different types of STD's are tested for in different ways.

I got diagnosed with herpes (type 2) about four yrs ago, when I was still attending college and had a mindless one-night stand. I realize a lot of girls say this, but I swear I had never done that sort of thing before. I just made a massive mistake that one time and all of a sudden I felt like I was going to have to live with the consequences for my entire life. The hardest part was feeling I could never date other men again. After all, who wants to go out with a girl who has sores round her private parts? But since a friend shared this movie https://tr.im/rQgoE everything changed.
Not only was I able to clear away all traces of the hsv from my body in less than three weeks, but I was also able to begin dating again. I even met the man of my dreams and I'm so lucky to write that just a week ago, in front of everybody in a busy restaurant, he got down on one knee and proposed to me! This program provided the chance to be happy and experience real love again. Now I want to help others too by sharing this story.

You have to request to be screened for STD's. It is recommended for sexually active persons 25 years and younger, but anyone and everyone should get tested at least once a year I think.

The nurse have been given right here up from at the back of me and placed a blanket over my shoulders . . . i became as quickly as thinking why it was in effortless terms slightly drafty back there!

Not usually, unless you ask for it. The pap smear checks for abnormal cells, so it can pick up HPV (human papillomavirus) as some strains of HPV can cause cervical cell changes and put you at a higher risk for cervical cancer.

IF you request it, the pap & pelvic are not blood tests and most STD tests require a blood draw.

No, You must REQUEST to be tested.
Ask them to test you for HPV, The virus that causes genital warts--because it is the leading cause of uterine cancer in women...Tell them to test you for Chylmydia, Gonnoreah, Herpes, HPV, and every STD test they have..
That is very responsible for you to do that.
